Aus Girls Dance is looking for experienced or prospective dance and aerobic instructors.  Our curriculum is based on Dale Pope’s highly successful Raw Energy Dance (RED) programme which provides fun dance fitness for kids; developed and taught over the past 10 years, Dale’s RED programme incorporates dance, aerobics, yoga and fitness style movement set to popular and current music. As well as running weekly classes after school, we also run a schools programme during the week in Melbourne and Sydney.

Dale Pope is a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer who has extensive knowledge and industry experience. Dale is currently choreographer for Bindi Irwin’s Kid Fitness, and Bindi and the Crocmen dance shows as well as being the choreographer for the Sydney chapter of the Australian Girls Choir.

We are seeking people who are interested in becoming Aus Girls Dance instructors for our school programmes.  These comprehensive dance programmes incorporate school curriculum packages and workshops for a school concert or disco night.

Applicants should have:

  • at least 5 years of proven dance training in jazz and/or ballet or aerobics/gymnastics,
  • a willingness to learn and teach the RED curriculum,
  • experience working with children/excellent ability to relate to and motivate children,
  • passion for promoting and inspiring a love of dance/aerobics,
  • a fitness focus with basic to good anatomical knowledge,
  • an energetic, committed and enthusiastic personality, and
  • a current police check for working with children (or the ability to obtain one).

Application Process

In order to apply for a position you will need to be available Monday to Friday during school hours (9am – 3pm). You do not need to be available all of these days to be selected. You will also need a car and be happy to travel around to different schools in Melbourne or Sydney. This work will be excellent for someone who is looking for some extra part-time work while studying etc., however it is expected to grow in its time commitment as we expand. A variety of opportunities may also exist for trained people including work at our regular weekly Aus Girls Dance classes, Holiday Programmes, weekend Music Schools and other AGC activities.
